Gripped from start to finish I cannot recommend it highly enough I loved it A good start to an addictive series this first "Volume Introduces The Reader To "introduces the reader to main rotagonists In spite of the Gettysburgs Battlefield Photographer-William H Tipton poor treatment Augum experienced in his childhood he has grown up to be a decent honest teenager His aspirations to become a knight come to nothing when the Legion attack his village and kill everybody else On the run Augum is struck by lightning and magically transported to safety and begins his training with the reclusive Mrs Stone A chance encounter with Bridget Leera and Robin helps to define his future I could not wait to start the second volume when I finished this book This is Sever Bronny s first novel and I am impressed There were a few minor editing errors but they didn t detract at all from the story Overall this is a well written book and I expect Mr Bronny s writing will continue to evolve and to delight readersArcane is a coming of age sword and sorcery fantasy The main characters one boy two girls are 14 year old magic users in training but the writinglot and story are mature enough to appeal to anyone I m 47 and an avid fantasy reader There is minimal cursing but the story is not Husband In Training pollyanna ish which surprised me I know that others have summarized thelot well enough that I don t need to rehash it For me it was kind of a Harry PotterEragonThe Wheel o Similar in some ways to Mull s amazing Fablehaven the Arcane is a spellbinding story of a guttersnipe who Live Wire (Elite Ops, proves to be so much than the eye can see A fourteen year old orphan who continually confounds his so called betters he also seems.
