Cannibal Encounters jTo Xander This guy literally was doing everything to make life easier for her and then she blew up at him because his dad was richeven though she was well aware he made his own money with his own career in property and filmAnd then there was Luce and Didabut their storylines seemed to have been completely forgotten about because of Izzy s Izzy s story took up about 80% of the book and then it seemed like the author forgot she also had to write about the other two and scrambled up something really uickly While Luce s story was extremely bland and predictable Dida s left me with a bad taste in my mouth She was completely okay with her husband sleeping around with god knows who and coming back to her bed but then when the shop sale went through she decided to go on a date with someone to get her own back I felt like the relationship should have been given much time than what it was givenOverall I can t recommend this book as Iust really didn t enjoy anything about it Posted in full Simply from the cover you can tell that The Vintage Cinema Club is going to be a different kind of book to what we re used to from Jane Linfoot Jane is one of my favourite authors and she never fails to make me smile with her flirty romance novels but I was very excited to see a different side to her writing and as I had expected Jane wrote another wonderful novel this time with its wit and warmth and three leading ladies so different but all so strong and willing to fight for the thing that bonds them Vintage at the Cinema Not to mention a hunk or two along the waySo far for me I like each new Jane Linfoot novel a little than the last and it was the same for The Vintage Cinema Club except that I loved this book for so many different reasons that I lost count This book was not The Chatterbugs Manual just a pretty cover it was the beautiful story of three women whose lives or one certain horrible husband decide to hit After reading the blurb for The Vintage Cinema Club I was super excited to read it as it soundedust like my sort of read This is the first novel I have read from Jane Linfoot so I wasn t uite sure what to expect I m glad I read it though because oh my god brilliant doesn t even cover it Such a lovely and heartwarming tale of love and friendship that will have your insides melting with affection You ll instantly fall in love with all of the main characters as each of them are delightful The story follows three friends Izzy Luce and Dida as they fight to save the vintage cinema that they all love for so many different reasons The building has been put up for sale due to one not very nice husband so the girls and the rest of the team have to fight fight fight so they can rescue all that is dear to themIzzy Luce and Dida never once gave up and ALWAYS stood up for what they believed in You could really learn a lesson or two from these girls They were written in such a wonderful way that gave each of them their own amazing personalities that made them shine through the pages of the novel The author did a brilliant ob at making each of the characters uniue and special in their own way a brilliant ob at making each of the characters uniue and special in their own way character really stood #Out To Me Especially Izzy #to me Especially Izzy she had the most chapters and became the most prominent character in the book She was such a selfless and loving person who put everyone first that she couldn t see how much she needed to start putting herself first I really rooted for her and Xanderwhat a swoon worthy couple They were GREAT Saying that all the characters were great Absolutely great This has to be the first book where I ve loved every character Wellexcept for a certain someone whose name begins with A coughThis feel good story will have you wanting after the last page is turned An enjoyable plot line that has lots of surprising little twists to keep you entertained I do hope we get see adventures from the vintage cinema club as I loved every single moment in this book I mostly want to know how everything works out for Izzy and her love interest and also Luce and hers It s so hard not to give everything away I ust want to ramble on and on about how much I loved this book It s a lovely little story that is ever so easy to read and is good for a nice summers day Have a picnic in the park and take this book with you Or head down to the beach and read this lying on the sand Perfect Hats off to the author for writing such a sparkling story There s humour there s tears there s drama and there s heartfelt moments There is everything you could wish for in a novel If you re looking for something you can read easily in a matter of hours then I suggest you give this a whirl I can read easily in a matter of hours then I suggest you give this a whirl I t recommend it enough Book provided by the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest reviewThe Vintage Cinema Club follows the story of three friends Izzy Luce and Dida The live all things vintage and they run their dream business in an old cinema When their business is in danger they do everything to save itIt s the story of a friendship between three very different women Dida is older then the other two and has to deal with her a of a husband and her kids She is strong and very independent Luce is a young single mum who is not into the romance thing at all until she meets OllieAnd then we have Izzy whi has no time to date but when she finds herself in France with gorgeous Xander her feelings take overI loved their friendship it was great to rea. S home when your marriage has cracks than a pavlova and your husband is having it off with half of LithuaniaThree retro fabulous friends in love with all things vintage run their dream business from the faded grandeur of a rescued cinema When that dream comes under threat they’ll do whatever it takes to save itFans of Lucy Diamond Michele Gorman and Milly Johnson are going to love this heartfelt funny story. Humour mixed with spicy scenes The girls are going through lots of personal issues but their friendships are preciousThe three characters are described but we get to hear from Izzy There is an amusing scene where she is rescuing an item from a skip that she can lovingly restore and make shabby chic She meets Xander and they have a will theywon t they relationshipThe first book I ve read by Jan This was my first book by Jane Linfoot When I heard her compared to Sophia Kinsella I was all over it Although I do have to say it s like her pseudonym books of Madeline Wicksham but still Sophia The main female characters consisted of a group of three women who had a co op sort of thing going where they sold antiues A place I would love to shop The characters are very endearing and a great group of friends I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them While there are three women the author focuses on one of them for the most part Izzy who has determined she will never get married and then she meets Xander She s stubborn independent and doesn t take any crap He s rich and does not want a relationship because people only love him for his money There are a few steamy parts in here which I was able to skip over and still get the gist of it This was definitely an entertaining read and I thoroughly enjoyed it Thank you Harper Collins and Net Galley for allowing me to read and review this book Jane Linfoot is solidly planted in my authors to watch list and The Vintage Cinema Club a uintessential chick lit story makes that choice one of the best I ve made in the past years I m used to Linfoot s use of humor and characterization that build and develop a romance theme but this broadening of her scope three main characters a common goal vintage items forays into romance for all three characters and the use of multiple points of view to move the story forward was a delightful read and one of my favorites this year Izzy Luce and Dida have opened a multi vendor vintage inspired shop in a disused cinema building in the Derbyshire Dales With Dida s husband Aidie putting the up for sale the women are struggling to find a way not to lose their space or the connections they have More than ust a space the VCC has become all consuming for these women it s their social outlet their support system and the only source of income for Izzy and Luce Each of our three characters is given their own voice point of view and challenges above and beyond the possibility of losing the storefront Dida worries that she s traded financial security for independence and happiness and her involvement in the VCC has brought her oodles of personally fulfilling opportunities as her marriage is disintegrating beyond its already fractured state Luce is a single mum pining over her best friend Izzy s brother who left because of her own fear of commitment And Izzy working herself to death or exhaustion to avoid thinking about the past or her own issues Izzy refuses to allow thoughts of love or a man enter her head These three diverse yet engaging characters all find something in the struggle to discover an answer to keeping the VCC open Each character interacts with the others and then has their own moments keeping the VCC open Each character interacts with the others and then has their own moments share their perspectives fears and secrets with us bringing them life breath and breadth as the story progresses With descriptions of gorgeous dresses French castoffs rehabbed reclaimed items and pieces that bring life to a vignette the visual input enhances the oy Opening the lives of Dida Luce and Izzy to new possibilities and in their struggles to find a way to save their space and not lose their market each woman finds that their possibilities are only limited by their own willingness to let go of #the past and move forward the vintage cinema #past and move forward The Vintage Cinema by Jane Lightfoot is the BEST choice you could make for a pick you up read this summer With plenty of heart and heat and a touch of drama to push you to the last pages I can t recommend this book or author highly enough I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher for purpose of honest review I was not compensated for this review all conclusi I received a free digital copy from the authorpublisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest feedbackFlicking between a one star and two star review I can t decide I feel like one star may be a little mean Maybe 15God I m glad this one is overThe Vintage Cinema Club follows three women Izzy Luce and Dida who all run a vintage shop at the site of an old cinema The building is owned by Dida s husband a man who enjoys cheating on his wife than staying at home with his kids and he puts the building up for sale without telling any of the women Now the women have to find out how to save the shop while dealing with some problems on their ownThe summary of this book is very misleading I thought I was going into a story that would be split or less evenly between all the women but it was about 80% ust Izzy and Xander Now that would be okay if it wasn t that for the most part Izzy was utterly intolerable At only 17% through I wanted to DNF this book simply because of the amount of times Izzy had already spoken about her broken home life While I didn t Mind Finding Out About Izzy S Life finding out about Izzy s life up it was mentioned SO MANY TIMES I wanted to scream every time she did It was extremely irritating Izzy was also extremely udgemental especially when it came. Bulous French proposal change her mindSingle mum Luce’s vintage bridal dresses are exuisite but there’s no way she’s ever going to wear one or walk down the aisle for that matter She’s a strictly no romance one night kind of woman – or so she thinksDida seems to have it all – a chocolate and banana cake recipe to die for lovely kids most of the time and a great lifestyle But what good is a fabulou. This story follows three friends Izzy Luce and Dida as they fight to save the vintage cinema their place of work and so much I believe the essence of this tale is about how these women became open to new possibilities in their lives and the struggles to make those adjustments for a different and perhaps better life Letting go and moving forward Full review at Review first posted on my blog Luce and Dida are three women who all have their own issues in life to deal with but also one pretty special something that brings them together every single day The Vintage Cinema Club their business which is focused on everything vintage set in an old cinema building in the town of Matlock Izzy is completely focused on her work and doesn t want to even think about romance or men until the handsome Xander appears on the scene Single mother Luce only cares about raising her daughter and doesn t need the complication of men besides a one night stand every now and again Or does she And last but certainly not least Dida who seems to have everything to the outside world but is driven crazy by her horrible husband s antics Luckily all three women have the Vintage Cinema Club Until they hear their building is suddenly for sale without them having been informed of this Next to their personal lives Izzy Luce and Dida all know what they need to do save the Vintage Cinema Club no matter what it takesI have only got love love love for this book what a wonderful treat from Jane Linfoot It seems like Jane s writing is only getting better and better and I have to say I absolutely loved almost everything about The Vintage Cinema Club what a great read I personally loved the fact that the book has three leading ladies in the form of Luce Izzy and Dida Each of them had their own story to share with the reader and all three stories were a real oy to get stuck into I enjoyed the diversity the characters and their stories are all really different They come from different backgrounds and have different things to deal with in their lives The storyline revolving around The Vintage Cinema Club brings all of them together since they are about to lose the building they all love so much There was than enough to hold my interest and I couldn t get enough of the book and especially the characters any hope for a seuel JaneThe book has a great and comfortable pace and the relatively short chapters made it easy to Presidencies Derailed just pick up the book whenever wherever and sueeze in a few pages I liked the changing between perspectives providing the reader with the opportunity to get to know each of the characters a bit better and on a personal level Each character in the novel is uniue and really has their own voice the author did a greatob on this and really paid attention to working out the different storylines and characters backgrounds This novel is a great mix of romance and chick lit and I Am Sure Any Fan Of sure any fan of genres will enjoy this from start to finish Overall The Vintage Cinema Club is a simply stunning and thoroughly enjoyable read which I devoured in Creationism in Europe just a few hours a read that comes highly recommended 45 StarsSometimes I will admit I buy books based on either the title or my knowledge of the author and possibly even the cover with barely looking at the blurb and this is one such book Despite even seeing the pictures on twitter from the launch party of this book I was somehow expecting a book about a group of ladies discussing old films I couldn t have been wrong if I had tried This is a fabulous story about three friends trying to save their business They sell vintage clothes and furniture from an unused cinema which Dida s troublesome husband owns They have been running Vintage at the Cinema for three years and areust celebrating that when a for sale sign is put up outside Dida Luce and Izzy need to do whatever they can to try and raise the funds to buy the place themselves or at the very least appear a viable business in the hope the new owners will let them stay There are many "fabulous descriptions of vintage items and there are also some real laugh out loud moments Within the "descriptions of vintage items and there are also some real laugh out loud moments Within the there are two blossoming romances one between Izzy and a certain handsome customer and one between Luce and a man she let get away It is Izzy s story that takes up the majority of the book and I loved her trip to France it sounded idyllic and a great way to spend daysOnce Izzy and Xander give into temptation the atmosphere sizzles and the intimate scenes are really enjoyable At the start of each chapter we get date time of day location and I think its a scene name as well as which characters like you would possibly get at the start of a scene in a play I found it worked well and since you were reading about three main characters perspectives always made it easier to know which thread we were continuing with next There are also occasionally emails and text message exchanges between chapters which are a simple way of moving some of the story forward I really enjoyed reading The Vintage Cinema Club and watching how the friendships strengthen as they create new initiatives to keep the business running What a beautiful book I loved the setting all things vintage and the characters It is set in Derbyshire where three friends who have vintage stalls in a rescued old cinema When it s put up for sale they fight to maintain their businessesThere is a lot of. A witty warm hearted romp through the lives and loves of three friends – with a cool retro vibe and a sense of fun that will never go out of fashion – Debbie Johnson author of the best selling ‘Cold Feet At Christmas’Meet The Vintage Cinema ClubIzzy is a wow at making unwanted things pretty but with three brothers and her shabby chic furniture business to run she doesn’t have time to date Could a fa.
